As we all know, accessories can make or break an outfit and they are my absoulute FAVE thing! There are many new and exciting ways to add on to your outfit.

My favorite trend for Spring 2011 is straw fedoras. Sometimes an outfit is missing something, and during spring/summer it’s hard to add on because you can’t really layer with the heat. Luckily, straw fedoras and even cow boy hats can keep you in the shade and more fashion forward.

I am ADDICTED to handbags. If I see a cute purse, I grab it (no matter what)…. Always. It looks like this spring my issue is going to grow worse because there are so many chic styles coming out. But my recent fave is the crossbody handbags. They are so convenient and chic at the same time. I love the ones with studs, zippers, and most of them are a larger hobo style (my favorite, I have so much stuff I need to put in there!).

Whether your belt is serving a purpose (accentuating your waist, keeping your pants up) or is just for show,  belts for spring 2011 will completely make your outfit. Animal prints, grommets, military style and studs… what more could a girl ask for?? Whether you’re buying a thick belt, or a thin one to wrap around a few times, these trendy belts will totally set your outfit off.

BIG Bangles have got to be the most FAB accessory known to woman. I love all different colors and styles. I like to pile them on and let them make my outfit POP… Bangles, Bangles, Bangles...I love them all!!! 


White is DEF in this Spring. Just make sure you choose the Right White and Accessorize!! :)

Stripes are not my fave, but when worn with the right outfit, they too can become FAB! Just choose wisely..



I love COLOR too! Spring is the one season where I feel like you can be vibrant and colorful, WITHOUT wearing the whole rainbow all at once. You have to pick colors that accentuate each other and learn to bring out undertones within each color you choose.

Keke Palmer, of “Akeelah & The Bee” and “Madea” film fame, has just announced that she will be producing her first movie. And she’s only 18! - You go girl!!!

She will be starring in and producing a new musical film “Ragz,” also produced by TeenNick Chairman, Nick Cannon.
Rodney Jerkins will serve as music supervisor, and music video director, Bille Woodruff, will serve as director.
Keke posted on her official site, “I loved the project so much that I wanted to be a producer on it as well , I even got to make suggestions on the script which influenced the music, and speaking of the music, we were so fortunate to have been able to steal Rodney Jerkins, and his amazing writing team, away from American Idol long enough to write all of the fabulous music!!”

Word on the street is that Bobbi Kristina daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston and Montana Fishburne daughter of Lawrence Fishburne are BFF’s (SHOCKER), and Whitney is pissed off!!

“Whitney thought she was getting Krissi away from her loser druggie friends in Atlanta by keeping her busy shooting a reality show in LA,” a family friend blabbed to the tabloid. “But she’s hanging out with more troubled people! Krissi’s even telling Whitney it would be fun to appear in a porn video with Montana! Whitney doesn’t know which way to turn.”

“Finally, Whitney decided the best rehab for Krissi would be to keep her busy doing something she loved,” said the insider. “Knowing that Krissi is always talking about getting into the music business, Whitney got a production company to agree to turn Krissi’s dream into a reality show.

NEW Tyler Perry Sitcom "For Better or For Worse"

Now that Tyler Perry's "House of Payne" has wrapped for his final season, I guess he decided to try for another hit show.

Tyler Perry is launching a new show, “For Better or for Worse.” The series is based on the characters of couples flick “Why Did I Get Married?” and will premiere on TBS. (of course).

Sources reveal that the show will likely follow a group of college best friends as they deal with life’s issues.
Carl and Leslie are a beautiful, happily married couple who want their friends to be as happy as they are; Brian is a TV sportscaster who has a volatile yet comedic relationship with his wife, Michelle, a hair salon owner, and Janice is a therapist married to a sharp, ambitious lawyer, Jordan, who’s trying to keep his secrets secret.

5 Reasons why Black Women Cant Save Money?!

5 Reasons Black Women Can't Save Money

Earlier this year the Insight Center for Community Economic Development published a study which found that the median wealth of single black women is $100 compared to that of single white women at $41,000.  Don't be fooled by thinking the disparity is caused by just a difference in income.  Income and wealth are not the same!  Income is what we bring in annually, while wealth is basically established by what we decide to do with the resources we bring in.

Here are 5 behaviors that THEY SAY Black women tend to participate in more frequently than other female counterparts which perpetuate this staggering economic gap:

1. We treat boyfriends like husbands.  We won't get on how many different ways this behavior is detrimental, but speaking financially, co-signing on loans and entering long-term agreements with someone who has not even attempted to commit to you on a long term basis is ridiculous.  More times than not, Black women are left with the debt of a brother who has moved on and is driving his new girlfriend around in the car you still have to pay the note on. 

2. We don't know how to say, "NO!" We tend to be givers by nature, but unfortunately we give until the point of self-deprivation.  First to the church, then to bills and then to relatives and friends who have no means of paying us back.  We believe that we are "helping" everyone around us from trifling siblings to grown children, but really we are enabling the people we love the most, not to mention damaging our own financial futures. Remember, the worst thing you can do for a broke person is become one of them!


3. We make our hair and nails a top priority.  As Black women, being fly is definitely a priority, but can this be done on some type of budget?  Are the nails with all the intricate designs that add an additional $10 to every pedicure really that important?  Imagine what could happen if we rocked hairstyles and manicures that were less flashy and something we could maintain on our own in between appointments.

4. We buy children name brand clothing.  Why should any infant or toddler be Gucci'd down?  Children will not die from not having Baby Phat symbols across their chest.  Name brand clothing is to impress your friends and strangers on the street who, quite frankly, really could care less. If you shopped at stores like Target, think of all the money you could actually put into that child's college fund!


5. We care too much about what our car looks like.  Many of us are the first to graduate from college in our families and we want to make sure that everybody from the 'hood knows that "we've made it!" What's the easiest way to show this? A big flashy car that we can't even afford to replace a tire on. If you can't afford the maintenance on a vehicle, especially the preventative maintenance, then you can't afford the car.  It's really that simple! 

 

I wont express MY opinion on this analysis, but what I would like to know is.....

Frankie ARRESTED!!!

According to TMZ Keyshia Cole's troublesome mother, Frankie Lons also a former star of Celebrity Rehab was cuffed this morning for possessing a "drug-related material."

Apparently Frankie was stopped by cops this morning for a traffic violation, where then they learned she had an active warrent in effect for a probation violation, then Frankie's car was searched giving light to a "drug-related material" in her possession.

Damn, Frankie..Will you ever get it together. You're 50 + years old. Come on mah!
